What NOT to do when cramming for exams

Most of my students are working hard at the exam hall. for them and others here's a gentle reminder about the common mistakes students do when cramming for exams.

Based on the forecast papers (PAPER 2), the topics involved are:

SECTION A

  1. Cell Division
  2. Cell Structure& Cell organisation
  3. Chemical Composition - Enzyme/ carbohydrate/ Lipid/ DNA 
  4. Coordination-Immunity-Lymphatic system
  5. Coordination-neurone/transmission of impulses/synapse/reflex arc
  6. Dynamic Ecosystem- Mangrove and adaptation
  7. Dynamic Ecosystem-Interaction/ Microorganism/disease
  8. Movement of substances across plasma membrane -  Plasma membrane Nutrition- photosynthesis
  9. Reproduction - Menstrual cycle/hormones 
  10. Reproduction -Double Fertilisation in Plants 
  11. Respiration
  12. Support & Locomotion- human skeletal system/earthworm
  13. Transport -heart/ blood vessel/blood circulation 
SECTION B
  1. Coordination - Homeostasis- osmoregulation/ kidney 
  2. Endangered Ecosystem- Acid rain/ air pollution/ ozone depletion
  3. Inheritance - Mendel's Second Law
  4. Inheritance/ Variation/mutation/meiosis 
  5. Movement of substances/ hypotonic, isotonic, hypertonic 
  6. Nutrition
  7. Nutrition- Food preservation/processing/ Food labels-evaluation
  8. Reproduction - Menstrual cycle graph/ IVF
  9. Reproduction& Growth - Growth/auxin
  10. Reproduction& Growth - Primary and secondary Growth
  11. Transport-in plants/ phloem/stomata/ types of blood circulation

Try to answer set 1 (paper 2 section A questions) and set 3 (paper 3 question 1) first because they give the most marks for both papers.
